Father, we thank you that you still speak to your people. We thank you for the gift of prophecy and we eagerly pursue it in order that you would be glorified in our church and in our cities. We pray for wisdom and discernment as we practice this gift as a body. We also thank you that all prophecy, Old and New Testament, points to Jesus, the King of kings and Lord of lords. We believe that just as He was raised from the dead by the power of the Spirit, that we will one day experience bodily resurrection in order to spend eternity in the full presence of our savior. In that moment we will rejoice that, although the victory has already been purchased, death will be vanquished once and for all. The curse of the law and the power of sin will be destroyed. As we wait in this world that’s broken, in bodies and minds that are broken, we look forward to the hope of all things being renewed. We ask that you give us the strength, as we wait, to put off the old self and clothe ourselves with the new. Convict us so that we may be renewed in the image of Jesus as we pursue the desires of the Spirit. Amen.
