Dear Lord,
Give us the boldness to speak your word when we feel scared or nervous. Let us not let this boldness twist into overbearing and cruel. Instead, let this boldness be a boldness of kindness and boldness in faith that your word is perfect. Your direction is perfect. Help us not add to it through our own conviction or fears.
Send us out, Lord! Show us an opportunity to share your good news. Show us people who are hurting and lost so that we may bring them hope that only you can offer.
We are not worthy to even lace your sandals, yet you have sent us out in your name to preach the gospel. How could we not? Are we so unaware of our own need for it? Have we forgotten the sweetness of the peace and hope it brought us? How can we do anything but preach your word?
Show us opportunities, Lord. And may your conviction of the spirit keep us from timidity and instead inspire boldness in our hearts today.
