Father,

What is happened to my reverence for holiness? I am thankful for a new covenant and I embrace my freedom in Christ, but the history of your people reminds me just how jealous you are for my full attention! On Sunday mornings, I come to you with my time, my worship, and my offering, but where is my heart throughout the week? If I have to become your temple, then I carry your sanctuary with me in every space and every conversation.

Father help me to remember who I am; a child of God! Help me to remember what my true identity is and what I was created for. Lord, help me to worship you in the way I speak, the way I work and the way I treat my neighbor. I want to be holy and consecrated for your good purposes. When my eyes wander or look to glorify myself, remind me of who my God is. In my weakness, do not allow me to stray from your will, but stir me up by way of your Holy Spirit to commit myself to your way of living! And when I fall short, I will be grateful in repentance for your graciousness and your love for me.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen
