Father!

Each day and each season is meant for steady faith. Yet our hearts are constantly leading us into the cycle of hills and valleys and we find our faith following along. One day we say you are good and the next we have turned away in sin. The following day we return and offer ourselves again but deny you by the afternoon. Father, your grace is sufficient and your mercy is new every morning, but I want to glorify you with my steadfast faith!

In Isaiah 1:11 you say,

“What to me is the multitude of your sacrifices?

    says the Lord;

I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams

    and the fat of well-fed beasts;

I do not delight in the blood of bulls,

    or of lambs, or of goats.”

Christ’s blood has covered my sin and made me new, but I know my deepest praise is in obedience of faith. Lord, I trust you when the sky is blue and I trust you when the storm has come! No matter the situation, I’ll choose holiness. Instead of piling sacrifice upon sacrifice after I’ve turned from You, I’ll remain in your holiness to begin with! Father, let my sacrifices be few, and my obedience be mighty.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen
