Father,

“Only by your power can we push back our enemies;

    only in your name can we trample our foes.

I do not trust in my bow;

    I do not count on my sword to save me.

You are the one who gives us victory over our enemies;

    you disgrace those who hate us.”

Psalm 44:5-7

When I feel weak, I know You hold all the strength I need. How do I ever imagine relying on someone like myself when I have the God of the Universe on my side? You are more than able and I am often forgetful of just who it is I am praying to. Can the God who made the stars not stop them from burning? Can the God who made the sky not cause it to rain? Yet I wonder if You can work in the battle of my daily life. My doubt creeps in at the slightest threat of my enemy.

Father, forgive my unbelief. Remind me of who my champion is and where I find my victory. If not in this earthly fight, then surely in this Spiritual one by the blood of Christ. Yes, I know who wins the ultimate victory over my soul, for I have placed my trust in Him.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen
