Lord,

Deuteronomy 33:29 says “Happy are you O Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord.”  You had literally saved Israel over and over by this point. Moses must have had so many memories flood his mind as he spoke those words.  You tell us throughout Scripture to remember your faithfulness because it builds faith when we stop and remember. Lord, I don’t stop and remember your provision as often as I should. Please forgive me for not being more disciplined with this. Please help me to make this a regular part of my spiritual walk.

After Moses blessed the Israelite tribes with Your blessing, he passed away. I can not imagine the void his death left. You tell us that Moses was your friend and there was not another prophet like Moses.  To read that no one else was able to interact with you face to face, and then to know that years later, You came to earth and lived with us, face to face, leaves me without words.  It helps put the magnitude of Jesus’ life in perspective. You are so holy, perfect, and mighty above us, yet You came down to my level, to humanity, so that you could save me.  Thank you. Thank you for being Immanuel, God with us. I love you. Amen.
