Father,
Your ways can be so contrary to what the world teaches, and I am thankful! When the world tells me to work without sleep, You tell the fields to rest. When the world tells me to value power more than I value the powerless, You tell me to consider my neighbor. When the world tells me to worship idols and success, You call me to be humble and obedient to Your ways. Thank You for the truth. Only Your way leads to holiness, only Your way leads to sanctification.
And even when I’m lured into lies and I lose my way, You don’t abandon me to the pit. You never give up on Your children who are lost. When I lean on my own understanding and buy into false gospels, Your Spirit guides me to repentance.
Lord, continue to teach me as my trust in You becomes stronger. I lean on Your mercy in my time of growth. I trust Your word even when it doesn’t correspond to my own understanding. Your ways are higher than my own and I am thankful You reveal them to me by Your word.
