Lord,

Reading about the steps involved for someone to be declared clean is so complicated. I never could have kept all the Law!  Thank you for salvation, and for Jesus’ death being the ultimate sacrifice. Leviticus 14 shows me that you are involved in every detail of our lives- even our physical homes! I had never considered that you would have instructions on what to do with mold in the houses. I found it to be a great example for my life- when mold was in the house, and wouldn’t leave, the house had to be torn down in order to fully eradicate the mold. Sin is that for me. When I don’t tear down the sin in my life, it will grow and continue to hurt me. I don’t want to let sin grow. Please give me eyes to see the areas of sin in my life that I have not addressed!

Reading through Leviticus, I am struck with how much isolation the Law required for those who were unclean, but Jesus, you broke that barrier. I have a greater compassion for those in the New Testament who were desperate for your healing. You touched lepers, those who were unwell, even those who had died. No one was “untouchable.” No one is out of reach for you. Thank you for being the God who came near. Thank you Jesus for coming to earth and walking with us. Thank you for touching my heart and saving me. Please help me to reach out to those around me and share how your love has saved me and transformed me.  Amen.
