Devotion

You’ve made the decision!  It all starts here.  You’ve recognized Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins to forgive you and give you a new life in Him.  You’re saved!

I was actually typing a very long document the other day and before I clicked save, I closed the window.  Oops.  I went into freak-out mode and started clicking on everything trying to redeem my accidental click of the red “X.”  Luckily, the document had auto-save on and even when I closed the window, it was still saved.  Problem solved, right?  One would think, but I tried to outsmart myself and copied the entire document, closed it, and tried to paste it to something that wasn’t linked to the cloud to satisfy my worry.  The only problem was when I went to “paste,” nothing happened.  WHAT!  I opened the old document and guess what….blank.  Auto-save.  Now I really freaked!  Thinking I wasted days of work, I went for one quick google search and found another feature that rescues people like me:  auto-recovery.  They’ve thought of everything.  I’ve got auto-save in case I forget to save it and auto-recovery in case I screw it up.

We’ve got the same in Jesus!  I’m saved.  In John 10:27-29, Jesus declares, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.  I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.  My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.”  God has saved you.  You’re not going to perish.  Nobody can snatch you out of God’s hand. Auto-save.

In Romans 8:38-39, Paul ensures us, “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”  God loves you.  One thing I can promise you from now until you meet Jesus face-to-face is you’re going to screw something up.  You’re going to sin.  You’re going to let God down.  Our auto-recovery is found in His love, His grace, and His promise never to leave us nor forsake us.

Embrace truth today.  I am SAVED!  Yes, you are.

Discipline:  Glorify God because of your salvation. Thank Him and tell someone of His great work in you!

Matthew 5:16 instructs us,  In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.  We’re saved!  Now our primary concern is to give God glory with our lives through our words, actions, and devotion!  Tell someone.  Write out why you’re thankful for your salvation.  Thank Him daily for the new life you have in Him! Somebody shout GLORY!
