Focus Statement
If we want to know the voice of the Spirit, we must look to the life of Jesus. Philippians 2 shows us that true obedience is not driven by emotion, but by surrender. The path of Christ will always lead us to trust God’s will over our own.

- Jesus felt the weight of what obedience would require
- “Father… remove this cup from me… nevertheless, not my will, but Yours be done”
- Truth:
- It’s okay to ask God for relief
- But don’t stop there—surrender follows request

- The pressing isn’t just what’s happening to you…it’s what’s being formed in you
- Reality:
- God doesn’t always remove the pressure
- He strengthens you within it
- Takeaway:
- We ask boldly… and surrender fully
The Crushing (The Cross)

- Jesus didn’t just feel the weight…
- He carried the weight of sin, guilt, and judgment
- Truth:
- He was crushed for what wasn’t His—He carried ours
- Picture:
- The verdict was guilty
- The weight didn’t disappear… it was transferred
- Key Idea:
- Jesus was crushed… so you wouldn’t be
- Reality:
- You may feel pressure
- But in Christ, you are not under condemnation
- Takeaway:
- Don’t carry what Jesus already took
The Promise (Resurrection)
- Luke 24:5–6 | Revelation 1:18
- “He is not here… He has risen”
- Truth:
- The weight didn’t win
- Death didn’t win
- The grave didn’t win
- Key Idea:
- What was pressed… what was crushed… was not wasted
- Victory:
- Jesus went into death… and came out holding the keys
- Takeaway:
- What feels heavy now does not get the final say
Walking It Out — Our Response
- For Believers: Release the Weight
- What are you still carrying?
- Guilt? Shame? Control?
- You don’t honor Jesus by carrying it…
- you honor Him by trusting that He already did
- For Everyone: Surrender Your Will
- “Not my will… but Yours be done”
- Where is God asking you to trust Him?
- What are you holding onto?
- Invitation: Receive What Jesus Has Done
- Romans 10:9
- You have a choice:
- → Keep carrying it
- → Or finally lay it down
- Jesus already carried the weight—you don’t have to carry it anymore
Final Though
- He was pressed, He was crushed, and He conquered death so you could walk free—hand in hand with Him. Go and live in that freedom, knowing we serve a holy God worthy of all praise.
