Focus Statement
ZEALHOUSE exists to dwell in his presence and become his home, but a home only welcomes him when it lets him consume it — flipping over whatever sin has enslaved us so he can fully move in.

Where Our Name Comes From
- John 2:14–17 — Jesus clears the temple of what didn’t belong there; his disciples remember, “Zeal for your house will consume me”
- Not just a name — a posture: Jesus is zealous, not passive, about what happens in his house
- Our values flow out of that zeal:
- Presence over Programming — God’s presence is our priority
- Encounter over Entertainment — church should lead people to actually encounter Jesus
- Life-Giving over Lukewarm — authentic, Spirit-filled faith that brings life into every room
Our Vision: Dwell in His Presence, Become His Home
- Presence isn’t passive occupancy — it’s active transformation
- God’s holiness can’t commune intimately with unrepentant sin — not because he withdraws, but because communion requires the sin to go
- Something has to move for him to fully dwell
The Tables Get Flipped
- Jesus doesn’t just visit — he overturns what doesn’t belong
- Illustration: Two brothers — one grew large and was “imprisoned” in a tower, but the door was never locked. He simply couldn’t resist the food kept in front of him.
- Sin doesn’t always look like chains — sometimes it looks like an open door we just won’t walk through
- Jesus wants to occupy every room of your life, not just the ones we let him into
Presenting Ourselves as His Home — Romans 6
- Romans 6:12–14 — don’t let sin reign in your body, obeying its passions; instead present yourself to God as an instrument of righteousness
- “Becoming his home” is an ongoing offering, not a one-time decision
- Romans 12:2 — this happens through the renewal of your mind
Walking it Out
- What’s the “open door” in your life — not locking you in, but keeping you fed and full?
- Welcoming Jesus in isn’t just inviting comfort — it’s inviting him to flip tables
- Name one area to surrender this week
