Father,
When the idols of our culture become comfortable in our lives, we lose our way. In an effort to please ourselves or fit into the world around us, we reject the enemy’s power and fall prey to luke-warm living. Thank you for reminding us of the battle! We have a real enemy who would use whatever strength or complacency to win our souls.
When the option to be holy or comfortable is before us, help us choose your way! When we’re faced with righteousness or worldliness, help us see our enemy for who he is and flee! Father, we commit ourselves to seeking after your Kingdom and defending it from the slow poison of comfort and popularity. No matter the direction of the world, we know our path is only toward you.
