Lord,

What amazing stories, encouraging truths, and powerful miracles in these chapters. You are almighty, sovereign, and personal! You knew Joshua must have been terrified to step into leadership after Moses’ passing, and you repeatedly reminded him “Be strong and courageous” and “I am with you.” What a special message for Joshua to hear as he started leading the nation. Then, in the next chapter, You send the two Israelite spies to Rahab for safe-keeping. You knew that Rahab’s heart was softened and she wanted to know You, and You took them to Rahab’s doorstep. You always make a way for people to know You.

In Joshua 3, You give the Israelites another miracle by stopping the Jordan river just like you did the Red Sea. You gave the Israelites a path across the river as only You could. Then You instructed Joshua to build a memorial so all those in Israel could see the stones and remember how God stopped a river and made a way when there was no way.  Thank you for these accounts to inspire my faith and encourage me to trust you. Please help me remember that You are always with me and You alone can make a way when there is none. Lord, I am in awe of your works. Amen.
