Scripture

I’ve never been exceedingly talented myself. I would never be where I am today without the people that God has placed in my life. I remember when I was in Costa Rica hanging out with people that I should have been with and that led to results that I would be too ashamed to share here. When God confronted me about it, I went into a season of reshaping how my circle looked. The people that God slowly started placing around me were building me up, instead of bringing me down. They were the ones who encouraged me to pursue my dream and to follow Jesus with everything that I had.

Most of the time we think life is about what we do. We focus on the result of what we want to achieve, but the reality is that life is a lot more about who you do it with. In our story today, the Ammonites decide to go into partnership with surrounding kings and hire men to fight against David. The reality was David had nothing against them, but the new Ammonite king listened to the wrong people he had in his circle (his commander) and brought into his circle more people that weren’t going to build him up. He created opposition with the man who has God on his side, David. Who you surround yourself with can make or break you.

I want you to think about the people that are in your circle. However, you define that, is up to you: friends, family, mentors, etc. Now ask yourself an important question: Are these the right people to be in partnership with? Now ask yourself the most important question: Is God in your circle? Are you in partnership with Him? You could have the best people around you, but if today you are not intentionally seeking to be in partnership and communion with God, then your circle is not complete. Jesus came and left us the Holy Spirit so we could be in a relationship with God. God is saying, He wants to be a part of your circle. All you have to do is let Him in and seek Him

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.”

CLOSING PRAYER
Father, thank you for the sacrifice You made through Christ. Thank you for all of the provision You have shown throughout my life, and that You for the provision I know you will continue to show me. Father, thank you for your Spirit that resides within me and the conviction He brings. Father, search me and identify what things I am holding onto that You want laid on the altar. Help me to let go of these things so that I may be closer to You, so that I may know you better, and display my faithfulness. Nothing I possess is more precious that you, Lord. In Jesus name,  Amen.
